This will be our 40th issue of the Fighter Poem Collection. We've been doing them for 20 of their 34 years. The first one was in our Principality days, A.S. XI, spring of '77. We started doing them fall of '91.
Ironically this will be one of our smallest books, with only 16 contenders. Sadly it will also contain some elegies for Rorik, who just died in China.

Considering the Prose Poem
Found a new form recently, a Prose Poem. It's like a concise essay. My Potrero essay is almost a prose poem. With a little more editing, it could be. It's a one-thought mini-essay with extreme word pictures, a totally enjambed poem with no line breaks. Instead it calls on alliteration, assonance, feminine rhyme, metaphor, etc.
Lately I've been reading - and writing - poetry with enjambment in mind.
Star*Line is calling for prose poems for an up-coming issue. I want to try my hand at a speculative-themed one.

Missing Poems
Poems I know I've written but haven't come across anywhere yet.
Iamb Immortal, the Highlander fanfic poems (probably in one of my Highlander fanzines)
Eichling's Drottkvaiett (boy I hope she has a copy, 'cuz I haven't a clue on that one -- maybe I can find my collection of bardic works I used to take to bardic circles?)
Eard-stappa -- earth-stepper, another Norse verse
They Only Watch... -- poem about ladies-in-waiting
At least one poem about a squire -- I recall writing a few SCA poems around then

Iamb I Said
Thought it was about time to set up my own po'tree blog. I can never find a poem I'm looking for, and I fear I may have lost track of a few of them. Especially with past computer crashes. ;-H
I suppose I can find the Highlander fanfic poems in the fanzine they made it into...if I can find the fanzine....
And of course all the fighter poems are in the fighter poem books. But still, one site for all would be nice.
So here 'tis. I'll start with the sestina I just did for Sestina Week on LJ.
